What is Lax4Life:

Teams of all ages gather annually for fall ball scrimmages the first weekend in December to enjoy same good competition and also raise awareness and money for Pediatric Cancer. In 2008, lacrosse coaches Dan Bray, Dan Lannon and Mike Wein discussed the possibilities of holding a jamboree and making it a benefit event. Mike's son, Brady, age 2, had just recently been diagnosed with Leukemia and the lacrosse community came together to rally and support Mike and his wife Rachel as they began the battle with Brady to fight the cancer. Each year the Desert Vista Lacrosse Team rallied volunteers and supplies to pull off this great event. In 2011, Jack Welch, son of Beth and Keith Welch, was also honored at the event as he had recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. Each year the event has grown, starting in 2008 with just 12 teams to over 35 in 2014 and growing to 52 teams in 2016 and up to over 65 teams last year. The jamboree is able to raise money from team fees and largely due to the donation of the referee's fees. The referees are all members of the Arizona Lacrosse Officials Association, which trains and assigns local officials to lacrosse games in Arizona. Lax4Life is a 501 c3 Non-Profit organmization that has donated over $60,000 dollors to kids with cancer and hospitals that treat them. Donations of all kinds are welcomed and if you have any questions about our needs for the jamboree, please contact Dan Lannon at dan.lannon@yahoo.com Check out the short video compilation of the 2011 Lax4Life thanks to Karen Daniel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lrrlfughYs
